2009: the closing event




Sunday February 7 was held on the closing day of Campaign Evergreen 2009 Obi made by Italy and sponsored by the Friends of the Earth.
The project, started last December, offered, buyers of Christmas trees for sale in all the malls of Obi on the Italian territory, the possibility to return the plant in good vegetative state by January 9, 2010, to obtain a voucher equivalent to the price and commitment on the part of Obi to provide for the replanting of the fir tree, under the supervision of the Friends of the Earth.

The Friends of the Earth in Florence , official campaign coordinators National, on Sunday held a day with the intention of celebrating the event and start the recovery officer and replanting of Christmas trees.

It was all made possible by the availability and cooperation of the Agricultural "Bani" of Castel San Niccolò (AR) in Casentino producing the trees and has welcomed the proposal for the recovery of plants.

comforted a beautiful sunny day, a group of volunteers of the Friends of the Earth on the morning of Florence reached the town of Castel San Niccolò in the province of Arezzo, where he first enjoyed the interesting visit to the Castle of the country, and then was accepted and thoroughly refreshed by a meal of specialty products and Bani Casentinesi by the company that has taken so kindly to reward all participants in the initiative.
In the early afternoon and then finally proceed with the start of the replanting of trees in an area specially designed and prepared.
Volunteers Friends of the Earth are of course only triggered operation planting about fifty trees. The actual operation will in fact be completed by the operators of the company these days that Bani replanting more than 3,000 plants, in fact this is gratifying the total number of trees recovered from this operation.
Being now at the third edition of the Evergreen Country and calculating the number of trees collected in previous years, over 10,000 plants are recovered through the project!
